How MPA's Work And What They Do

They Allow Marine Species And Stressed Reefs To Recover
-Ocean species may venture into the protected area to recover and reproduce and then expand outside the area creating more plentiful fishing trips. This helps depleted, threatened, rare or endangered species and populations.

They Maintain The Diversity Of Marine Species And Their Habitats

They Preserve Habitats Considered Important For The Survival Of Many Species

They Preserve And Protect Historical And Cultural Areas

They Help Scientists Study Different Human Impacts On The Area And How The Land Works.

What We Want To Do
Have a zoned multiple-use MPA
A zoned multiple-use MPA means that people may take resources but only in specific areas. You will be able to use small paddled boats, you still will be able to swim, scuba dive, take some resources, and snorkel. Motorboats and fishing will be prohibited and there will be no-take zones in some areas.
